Government Benefits for Low Income Citizens

Government benefits for low income citizens.......you know that they're out there. A lot of us don't know what they are and how to find them. I've found a cite that will help you locate them by state... http://www.govbenefits.gov/govbenefits_en.portal;jsessionid=KB2nLXbJ1kyZsmHQBwwVnLvQFJZNZFNp2Xv99NnRBcGWDNmSVf9T!631792813?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=gbcc_page_locate_state&_nfls=false

Almost everyone needs a car.....

Let's face it everybody has to have a way to get around...Not everyone has access to public transportation or a friend or relative to give you a lift from time to time. Gotta get from point A to B some how.

I've scoured the web in search of legitimate ways to for those who've fallen on hard times to get some wheels..The list is short but, it's a jumping off point..I'm going to continue my research and hopefully in the near future I'll have more to add..

1. http://www.freecharitycars.org/ (This option could take a little time and effort but, it could pay off in the long run)
2. http://www.opportunitycars.com/ (This link could help connect you to local programs in your area)

Christmas Toys for Needy Families

Christmas is around the corner....While some lucky people are out there partaking in the joys of shopping for that perfect gift others are out there not feeling quite so joyous...They're feeling the pinch of the falling economy...Some of us out there can barely afford the essentials (rent, food, toiletries, clothes, ect..) yet alone provide Christmas presents for there kids. I've compiled a list of resources that I hope will lift your burden some what...If you're one of the lucky ones with a little extra to spare make a donation and help spread the joy around....

1. http://www.toysfortots.org/
2. http://www.salvationarmyusa.org/
3.http://www.familyinchrist.com/html/angel_tree_program.html ( just for children of inmates)
4. local churches and catholic charities

I know this list is short but, it's a start...Other places to check would be with your local social service organizations in your area....Keep knocking on doors and eventually somebody will let you in...

People Helping People on the web

I found the coolest site today. http://www.wishuponahero.com/ You can sign up for free and make wishes. It doesn't matter how big or small your wish is. Browsing through the site I saw people wishing for everything from birthday cards to money to pay bills to organ donations. People are granting their wishes. Just be reasonable....If you ask for something like an Ipod just because you want it, it's probably not gonna happen....

So, here's how it works...After you get your free account you're aloud to make a wish. You can only make one wish every 72 hours and have up to three wishes posted at a time (75 wishes in a lifetime). This makes it possible for everyone's wishes to be seen. Members can browse through wishes as they come up or search for wishes in chosen categories (ie. money, cards, granted, ungranted..) They can choose to grant the wish, post a comment (no negative comments aloud), or continue browsing wishes...

I think it's great it allows people to seek the hand up they need with out fear of persecution or shame as well as allows others the opportunity to help there cyber neighbors....

A word of advice......if you see a wish on here and you're able to help you should...It'll leave you with a great feeling...(The site keeps track of wishes you've granted and had granted...) If you someone grants one of your wishes, pay it forward. What a wonderful way to keep the cycle of kindness going...
